Yum Yummy!! Homemade Peach Moonshine for Drunk Girl Summer!

I usually make homemade moonshine for the winter. Usually, we’re all home and we’re practicing being #teamcozy for the winter. But it’s been so darn hot lately (we’re hitting an average of 100 degree temps) and when it’s that hot, you really can’t leave and do anything.

Enter peach moonshine.

This recipe is perfect for cookouts, or just lounging in the backyard, patio, or even in front of the steps at your front door. And if you don’t have any of those, this is great for being inside the home just watching a movie or having a kickback.

I found a recipe for moonshine that I modified so it’s a bit sweeter, but also stronger. Cautiously sip this beverage. Only drink it when you know for a fact you won’t be leaving anytime soon and won’t be driving.

If peach juice is hard to find (and it can be – I found mine in the refrigerated section), you can definitely substitute it with white grape juice.

I served this in either mini mason jars or in shot glasses. It packs a punch so it’s a slow sip and wait.

Peach Moonshine Ingredients:

4 cups of water*

4 cups of peach juice (or white grape juice)*

1 1/2 cups of vodka or everclear**

1 1/2 cups of Peach schnapps

2 cups of sugar (brown or white)

Cinnamon sticks or 2 Tbsp of cinnamon.

Sprinkle of nutmeg

Fresh peach slices (optional)

Directions:

  • Combine water, sugar, juice, and cinnamon sticks (if adding) in a medium pot. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and allow to sit until cooled to room temperature (depending on where you live, this might take a couple of hours, minimum).
  • Add in the Peach Schnapps and vodka. Stir.
  • Add in the fresh peach slices if you’re using.
  • Refrigerate for a day, then taste and adjust.
  • Taste and adjust to your liking by adding more vodka or Schnapps.
  • If you feel it’s too strong, add in 1/2 cup of water or juice (or more) until it’s to your liking.
  • Keeps in your fridge for up to two weeks.

*You might need to add more water, juice or vodka

** Use vodka OR Everclear. I don’t recommend using both for health reasons. You can get a pretty strong vodka that will do the trick (at least 80 Proof). Everclear, from what I’ve understood, is outlawed in certain states.

And enjoy! Let me know what you think in the comments! 🙂
